Campsite Chatillon-en-Diois

Gastronomy tour in the Drôme and Vercors

The Drôme and the Vercors do not lack gastronomic specialties ...

And why not take advantage of your stay in the region to try all this?

For the aperitif and starters, if you arrive from Valence, we recommend you to stop in Chabeuil, to take a little piece of caillette, a paté that mixes pork and finely chopped herbs. In general, you will easily find quality charcuterie in the region. And if you have a passion for sausages, do not hesitate to go to the charcuterie at the Col des Limouches.

For the main course, do not miss the ravioles of Dauphiné. Finer than a ravioli, it is a small square of dough filled with cheese and parsley that can be made in salad, poached in water, or in gratin.

In terms of cheese, you will find the Picodon, AOP goat cheese with whole raw milk, as well as the Saint-Marcellin, small round cheese with cow's milk.

To finish, of course, if you pass through Montélimar to come to the Camping de Chatillon-en-Diois, you will not miss the institution that is the Nougat.

But in terms of sweets, the region has other specialties to offer. If you like orange blossom, you must try the pogne, which is a brioche or the Swiss (specialty of Valence) which is a small crunchy and soft biscuit also with orange blossom.
